Nobody likes the sight of an oven that is covered with grease and grime, but it can be hard to keep your cooker looking pristine when you love making Sunday lunches, baking delicious cakes, and are partial to Friday pizzas. However, if you want to avoid a thick build-up of burnt food and hard-to-remove stains, there is something you could do every time you use your oven.

TV’s Queen of Clean Lynsey Crombie has told readers of the Express to simply wipe down the appliance after every use with a warm soapy cloth.

This simple trick will keep your oven sparkling for three months at a time, so you don’t have to get out the marigolds and do a deep clean as often.

“If the oven is bad, you can just blast it using steam, a power from the steamer will cut through grease and grime with ease,” Ms Crombie, who has 287,000 followers on Instagram, said.

The This Morning homecare expert also recommended sprinkling bicarbonate of soda in the oven together with white vinegar, leaving for a few hours and then wiping it clean. This helps to break down the grease, so it can be easily wiped away.

Lots of people are opting for air fryers instead of ovens these days, as they are cheaper to run and can cook just about everything.

Lorna Cooper, founder of Feed Your Family For About £20 A Week, said air fryers cost £52.74 per annum to run compared with electric cookers, which are typically £316.54 a year.

She noted: “Once you have the hang of it, they are fab.”

However, there are a few things you need an oven for, so make sure you keep it in good condition by calling our oven cleaning experts in Crawley today.
