Could the Great British Bake Off be any better? Well, the much-loved baking show seems to be growing in strength every year, as one of the biggest sitcom stars joined its celebrity bakers.

David Schwimmer – aka Ross Geller from 1990s show Friends – starred in the Stand Up To Cancer edition of GBBO last Sunday (March 19th).

The American actor looked out of place as he put his pies in the oven, admitting to the camera: “I do not bake on a day-to-day or year-to-year. My expectations are so low that I think I might do really well for myself.”

However, the 56-year-old did so well, he ended up being crowned star baker at the end of show and was presented with a Stand Up To Cancer apron, beating the likes of fellow celebrities Jesy Nelson from Little Mix, comedian Rose Matafeo, and actor Tom Davis.

Fans loved seeing David on camera again, and many took to social media to share their excitement.

“David Schwimmer on the British Bake Off is literally everything I dreamed and more,” one wrote.

The actor, who also starred in American Crime Story, had previously told the Radio Times how much he loves the iconic baking show, saying: “It’s competitive, but everyone’s so lovely with each other. It’s so not American.”

Before being given the prestigious award of Star Baker, Schwimmer impressed the judges, Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, with his macarons, 3D meringue of a celebrity fail scene, and savoury pies.

If the latest line-up of GBBO has left you feeling creative in the kitchen, you might need to keep the number of oven cleaning services in my area to hand to give your cooker a good scrub after your bakes.
